Hello, I’m Investment Immigration Attorney Vaughan de Kirby. And I wanted to give you a little news today. Congress has extended the EB-5 Program for ONLY TWO WEEKS until December 21st, 2018.
Now what do you do with this information? If your application is ready, we would be able to file it. The question in many people’s mind is: should I wait? Should I wait to see what Congress does? I think the answer is no.
What you should do is begin preparing your application now. There are a lot of steps involved. If you can get those steps taken care of before it is extended, you can file immediately. And your priority date is the date that USCIS accepts your application.
Now as far as attorney fees go, I can tell you what we do in our firm. We have explained to our clients that if Congress takes an action that makes the application impossible or raises the investment amount, we will refund the fee in total. And that is the arrangement you should have with your attorney, so you’re taking no risk financially but a small risk of your time, and you will get your application on file sooner, and get that Green Card sooner.
I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact us or call 415-221-2345 if you have any EB-5 related questions. We're here to help!
